Todorov's Equilibrium

This is an image of our Todorov's equilibrium which shows the story line of our Horror opening (main Brief).

 

• Our equilibrium will be the happy family, to show this we are going to have a shot of a park and the girl playing on the swing with her doll. We will also show the parents laughing and joking, to portray happiness which juxtaposes with the situation that commences later on in the opening.

 

• The disruption will be a shot of the girl standing outside her window with blacked out contacts to portray the swap of souls from the demon inside the doll to the girl. While this is happening, it will also show that she is not inside the house anymore which indicates the fact that she is no longer in her body and in control of her actions.

 

• The recognition of disruption will be the girl looking bad at an old family photo and then she starts to aggressively scribble out the parents faces to illustrate the demon inside the girl that wants to destroy the family.  

 

The following will not be included in out Horror film opening:

• The repair would be when paranormal investigators and demonologists coming into the house to assess the girl and doll, to then perform an exorcism that is successful.

 

• The new equilibrium will be a shot of the now happy family, sitting in the living room drinking tea, however, it will then be zoomed in to show the doll sitting in the tree outside the window behind them. This would lead to a cliff hanger as the audience will want to see what happens next.
